ppt formulas do not import correctly

HI

Importing a few slides which have formulas (either created with MathType or with MS ppt formula builder) - and they do not import correctly, losing the font information - basically going to very very poor pixelated image of formulas

It should work, right?

If so, what do I need to do to make sure it works?

Cheers,

Fred

Select the formula in PPT, right click on that object and choose the option to turn it into a graphic. Insert that graphic in Captivate.

Alternatively, use the MathMagic app that comes with Captivate to create the formula.

Here's what I get with right click

The Convert senses it is a MS equation (actually was a MathType equation..) and will not convert to anything. Save as Picture is a pretty difficult work around... that will be tedious and generally provides pretty poor results.

MathMagic as part of Captivate? really - where's that?

I bought MM for InDesign and it's expensive.

Not really looking forward to a workaround that involved lower quality or re keying in all the formulas.... Should nt' they just import cleanly?

sorry, rant off, this is frustrating. Thanks for the suggestions. I may have t resort to one or the other at some point.

Cheers,

Fred

looks like if I Convert to Picture and do not mess with the image size, it seems to work alright in the import. Still testing and wonder how it will scale on different screen sizes... anyway, looks like the work flow is create the formulas either in MathType in PPT or in MathMagic for Captivate (have to purchase as far as I can tell) and go with that.

So, equations/formulas just do not import, is that right?
