I am importing a powerpoint slide show into captivate 2.0. I would like the user to advance the slides, but I don't know how to turn off the automatic advancing. In the original PPT file, I selected advance on mouse click. Any ideas

Hi there

Insert a Button or a Click Box object on the first slide. Configure it to go to the next slide when clicked. Copy that object and select all the remaining slides in the Film Strip or the Storyboard. Then paste across all the slides.

Wow, that's terrific. Thank you!

I've now created buttons. However, in my preview, sometimes the "next" button doesn't work. It's not consistent. Any ideas.

Also, someone else created the powerpoint slides. The screen shots are very fuzzy on some, especially when transferred to Captivate. Any suggestions for that?

Sorry to ask so many questions.

Hi again

No problem on questions. That's what the forums are for!

As for the intermittent buttons. Did you change the default action assigned? By default, they are set to "Continue". So if you leave that as is and you click before the pause occurs, the behavior will seem intermittent.

As for the fuzzy text, that's going to happen when you insert PowerPoint. Keep in mind that PP is intended to play "Full Screen". So you are taking a bitmap image and reducing the size. The quality will always degrade. The extent to which it degrades depends on how much scaling is occurring.

If you want an ultra sharp PP into Captivate, you may achieve it by configuring your PP to play in a window. Then surround the area for the PP playback with Captivate and record it as it plays.

Cheers... Rick
