PPT project used like Blank Project: Bad idea?

I've begun a project by uploading a PowerPoint file via the dialogue on the opening screen.

My purpose in doing so was to only to capture the PPTs slide notes into Captivate for purposes of captioning and TTS. All PPT slides were blank, without objects.

Once uploaded to Captivate, I deleted the full-stage click boxes, applied a Captivate theme, and began development as if the project were a regular blank project (not responsive).

Now I'm wondering if this workflow was a bad idea. Perhaps, I'm thinking, a project based on a PPT import is inherently different somehow, and not in a good way?

It's not too late to rebuild the project in a new Blank Project format, but before I take the time to do so, I thought I'd let the experts weigh-in!

    I would never do that, but I'm not a PPT-lover at all. Is there really no way to export those slide notes from PPT?

    Reasons: imported PPT-slides are only possible in non-responsive projects, they have a fixed resolution calculated from the size of the ppt-slides (which are strangely in print instead of in screen units). They use by default the Blank master slide, normally they are sort of movie slides. If you had chosen Automatic play instead of by user clicks, you wouldn't have had those click boxes.

    Thank you for your quick reply! Sorry to take so long to loop back around.

    I can see what you are saying about the drawbacks of starting with a PPT import but treating it like a Blank Project project. I have nine more modules after the present one, so ample opportunity to do better next time.

    If I see the next modules somehow looking or acting better, I may still rebuild this one as true Blank Project. Now I'm kind of curious if I will notice a difference, so a good experiment!

    I appreciate all--not just this one--of your helpful answers and learn something "captivating" from you most everyday! I am very grateful for that!
