PPT won't import to Captivate

I am new to Captivate.  When trying to upload either a PPT or PPTX, it seems to upload the slides, but then when I get to the preview window, it freezes.  I cannot hit OK or cancel or change anything.  So I am never able to actually convert them.  HELP!

    PPT import is not a good idea to create a real eLearning course.

    Can you try to import only PPT instead of PPTX, and limit the import to a couple of slides, not the complete presentation. Are you on Windows or Mac? Can you please mention the full version number of Captivate.  You find that number under Help, About Captivate.

    Thanks for replying.  As I stated, I have tried both PPT and PPTX.  I have version 11.8.0. Also there is no "about captivate" under Help. Using a Mac if it matters.

    Sorry, I am on Windows, and I heard about issues with PPT import in version 11.8 on Mac systems. Cannot help you.
