Pre-Test for a Simulation

I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction for creating a pre-test using the application simulation.

I have been asked to create a pre-test using a simulation but everything I search for is talking about questions, the don't want questions they just want to gauge the users ability to use the application.

I already have a quiz which works fine and shows which sections they have passed/not passed and then allows them to just do those sections again.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Record the software simulation in both Training and Assessment mode. You can take out the scores of the scored objects from the Training slides, and use those as a pretest. Or you can keep the scores, summarize them in a user variable (if you need to take decisions based on the result of the pretest), but do not add them to Total. Some quizzing system variables will still count them, but the score will not be including the pretest scored objects if you don't add them to Total.

Hi thank you so much for your response will definitely try this out.

Decisions will be based on the results of the pretest, as I need it to show if they have reached the required level on the sections, exactly the same as if they had taken the end of course test.  It should then show a tick to indicate they have reached the required level or a cross to indicate they haven't and that's the sections they need to go through.

    Once again, many thanks.

You will have to use the score and summarize it after each slide in a user variable. Be careful not to include the score in the Quiz Total. Maybe you will also have to take out some system variables from the score slide or create a custom score slide.
