Question

Preview Does Not Match Project

Sup,

I'm using Captivate 9. I'm new to the program.

When I preview my project, it differs from the way it is when I just click play on my timeline.

Certain colors are darker, and the drop shadows are thicker.

Certain actions do not play back correctly when previewing. For example, I have some text set to the entrance action, "EaseIn Top." When I playback using the preview function, the text's opacity doesn't change *as it does when just playing the timeline. I also have a line set to the entrance action, "StretchFromRight," that plays back all glitchy when previewing.

Is the preview what my project is actually going to look like, and I'll just need to account for the differences in color/actions?

EDIT: The line spacing on bodies of text also differers greatly between the project and the preview. Any help?

Play slide os NOT a preview, will rarely behave as the published file will look. It is meant only for editing, for synchronizing.

Which Preview methods did you use: the best ones are F11 (HTML in Browser) and F12 (in Browser).

If you want more help, you'll have to post some screenshots.

I'm confused. So the way the slides play in the timeline is not an accurate reflection of how my project will look? And the way it appears when previewing is how it will look? That's pretty frustrating. Here's an example of what I'm dealing with now.

Above is a screenshot of my project while just viewing the slide

And this is a screenshot of my project when previewing it. The text design changes.

I don't know what preview method I'm using I just click preview, and select "Project." It opens up in my browser. These issues arise regardless of which option I click though:

Hi Zeketh,

Did you "cut-and-paste" this text into the slide? If so your issue might be hidden formatting from "Microsoft Word" or Web not being recognized in preview.

Cheers
