Question

Preview in HTML5 in browser doesn't show all the applied Timing effects

I'm having a very similar issue. I want my elements to appear with some delay, but when I preview it on HTML5 on the Browser (Chrome), some elements appear, others not at all. I currently don't have any way to test it on the LMS, but I'm afraid it will simply not work.  There's no effect, just simple timing.

Also, I'm using Captivate 9.0.2.437

Help!

You have two interactive objects (picture is tiny and fuzzy, they have a green timeline) pausing the timeline rather in the beginning (cannot read at which time). Lack of understanding the Timeline and the way pauses and pausing points act on appearance is the number one reaons of questions on this forum. Have a look at:

    Captivate's Timeline

    A blog post:

Pausing Captivate's Timeline - Captivate blog

If you want everything to appear as timed, you need to move the pausing points to be after the start of the last timeline which is the one for the topmost object in your case.

Why is that timeline so long? If you don't need slide audio, there is no reason for all the frames after the pausing points

I will add audio to it, but I found the issue. There's a forward button, that seems to be pausing everything after 1.5 seconds. Weird, as I did not set it up like that, but seems like an automated option. Is there any way to prevent the screen to move to the next one without having to only show my forward button right at the end?  What I mean is: I'd like the button to show during the whole slide, but I don't want the slide to advance automatically. Should I be using a click area instead of a button?

Are you a newbie to Captivate?

Please take some time to watch that movie and read the blog post.

You have not ONE but TWO shape buttons pausing at the default time of 1,5 seconds. You don't have to move the shape button timelines, but the PAUSING POINTS. It is not really necessary to keep the pausing point for both (don't know the purpose of the second shape button), but as I wrote :

"you need to move the pausing points to be after the start of the last timeline which is the one for the topmost object in your case."

Moving can be done by dragging the vertical thin line that is indicating the pausing point, or by using the Timing panel.

If you need the Back and Next button on each slide, put it on the master slide: when pausing is turned on, it will pause at the end of each slide using that master slide, whatever its duration. This tip and much more in all the articles I wrote about the timeline.

BTW slide audio in not automatically paused by a pausing point, it can bepaused.
