Problem with Drag and Drop Widget: "Something went Wrong."

I am currently using version 12.6.0.63 and I am having a problem with the Drag and Drop widget. Reading the messages, it seems that my defining image states for the drop targets (unfortunately necessary for this course) is resulting in the blank, "Something Went Wrong" response in preview. I have written to support about this, but I have not received any response. I could really use a workaround for this that will still allow me to reveal new information to the user.
