Problem with PowerPoint import

At one time I was able to import a PowerPoint file with a background image and text. Now that I try it I only get the text and not the background image. Help

Hi again cdrewick,

Thanks for the info. You have the latest build of Captivate 2. But Captivate 2 does not support importing anything except the "completed" slide from Power Point. You cannot import just the text, etc., you can only import the slide as it looks after all transitions are complete.

With that in mind, I really don't know what to advise you, because what you are describing just isn't possible in Adobe Captivate 2.

Captivate 3, on the other hand, does support the "pick and choose" import for PPTs, so you might want to download the 30 day Trial version of CP3 and try that.

cdrewick, if you are using Cap3, you have the option to import as animation or image. if you selected animation(default) then it will appear to be blank in edit mode. but once you play you will see the animation of the slide.

so again if your using Cap3, check how you are importing.

1) Please list what you are doing to import the Power Point file, step-by-step ...
2) Also, please share with us what version and build of Captivate you are using ("Help > About")?

Sorry for the lack of information.

Version 2.0.0 Build 1177

I have tried the import feature
File>>import/export>>import Microsoft PowerPoint Slides
I have selected the .ppt slide that I wanted
I have then import slide to the end of the project. (Note that in that window the slide shows image and text)
When I get to the convert PowerPoint slide to a project the image is striped from the slide, and I see text only.
I click on OK and the slide is inserted into the project, but no image.

I have also tried the insert slide function with the same result as explained above.
