Problem with published video and the timing where it should stop

Dear all

I have a strange kind of problem.

I publish my interactive Video with Back and next Buttons.

The timing where the video stops varies all the time.

If I start the video I notice that the timing where it should stop is not correct. But if I press the back button and it starts one step behind and plays through the same section the timing is correct.

Does anybody know why I have two different timings of the stop of the video? I notice it because I have voice in it and it sometimes stops in the middle of the sentence and then after going back to the last step and playing it again it is all correct.

I am really disappointed and do not know what to change anymore.

Thanks for your help

    Correct answer Lilybiri

    My video is 75.565mb

so I will definitly split it up in parts 🙂

I added that information, because you can first try to reduce the file size by taking the video to Adobe Media Encoder.  Set its size to what you need exactly, do not resize in Captivate, lower the settings for audio and video. All that may reduce the file size, and hence the number of slides needed.

Hoz did you set up those 'Back' and 'Next' buttons? By using navigation to bookmarks?

How big is the video, because this really looks like a synchronisation problem. The video needs to be loaded On Enter for the slide.  Try to split the long video in logical parts and put each of them on another slide.

I mostly use a menu to allow navigation to bookmarks. Have a look at this example:

I didn't experience the problems you describe, do you ?

Yes exactly with bookmarks where to jump to.

I did it all in one slide and the video is over 7 minutes. I guess that might be the problem. I can easily put a chapter per slide.

Thank you for that tip, I hope that solves my problem 🙂

And yes on your example the problem is not existent

My video was also almost 7 minutes, but it is the size which is really important. The published mp4 was around 8.5Mb.  Just FYI.
