Problems creating LMS reports in Chrome 80

There really isn't anything you can do about that, especially if the actually close the browser and not use the Exit action in Captivate.

There really is a solution, but it doesn't convince me. In the section "aspect edits", it is possible to mark the check "that the user learns at his own pace". What this does is enable the dropdown of the contents, whether you want to or not in the course, and also when you start a session started, Captivate launches an "alert" asking if you want to connect to where you left the course in the first session.
This does not convince us, we would like it to be more transparent to the user, and to work as before.

Where inside Captivate are you seeing a section called "aspect edits"?.  If you are referring to the Self-paced Learning option which is buried down inside the Skin Editor settings, this is not intended to be used when you are using any type of LMS (e.g. Moodle which you mentioned).  

 

Self-paced Learning is a way of bookmarking the specific slide the learner reached at the moment they abandoned the module.  It simply writes a 'cookie' to the web browser's Local Storage area.  No data is sent anywhere else.  When the learner resumes the module, the lesson reads the cookie value in Local Storage and shows the learner a message asking if they want to continue from where they left off.

 

If you are using SCORM or AICC as an LMS integration standard then you need to turn OFF Self-paced Learning and use a different bookmarking method that is called Resume Data bookmarking.  This is turned on inside the Quiz Settings > Reporting dialog under the LMS Advanced button.  You need to make sure the Never Send Resume Data checkbox is UNCHECKED so that Resume Data does indeed get sent to the LMS.

 

 

So, if you check this setting and it is as shown above, then in theory bookmarking should work.  However, by default Captivate does not show any dialog box with this setting because it expects the LMS to take care of any messages that need to be sent to the learner. 

 

If you have the proper settings but Moodle is NOT bookmarking the termination slide correctly, then upload the same SCORM 1.2 package to SCORM Cloud LMS (with a free test license) and see if you get the same results. 

 

Some other things you may need to check in your LMS Reporting settings:

  • If using Moodle LMS, make sure you select Moodle as the LMS type.0
  • By default, Moodle only supports SCORM 1.2, not SCORM 2004.

  • So unless you have some kind of special plugin module for Moodle that DOES support later versions of SCORM reporting then you should be using SCORM 1.2.
