Problems installing Captivate 9 trial - installer fails

I have downloaded a trial version of Captivate 9, and I'm now attempting to install it.  When I click the .exe file and select run, I get the following message: "Installer failed to initialize.  This could be due to a missing file.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem"  When I click the "Get Adobe Support Advisor" link, the site says it's been discontinued.  How can I fix this issue?  (Note:  I currently have Adobe 6 installed on my workstation, so I'm not sure if that is interferring.)

    Hello Christine,

    Welcome to Adobe Forums!

Please follow the article provide by Lieve to download the .exe and 7z file and then to install the Adobe Captivate 9 using .exe .

Along with that make sure that you are saving both the files in same location .

If even after downloading it again , you get the same error message then rename the OOBE folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe and run the .exe to install.

    Regards

    Hi Ted,

Right click on Install in the extracted folder and click on Show Package content.

Locate the Mac Os  and under that folder click on Install.

Are you sure you downloaded all files? Do you use the Akamai download manager? If you don't want to use that one, try to download files from this site (it is legal):

Adobe Captivate 9 Direct Download Links: Free Trials with no Akamai | ProDesignTools

It is a big file (over 1TB, only for Captivate, later on you'll need the Voices and the eLearning assets as well).

Moreover: it was released only for 64-bit systems.

Nothing due to your older version of CP, although you should Clear Preferences before installing CP9.
