Problems with Captivate on IOS

Hi,

I am hoping someone might be able to help. I am publishing eLearning modules from Captivate 9 (non responsive) for HTML/Flash. When I view the content on an iPad running IOS 9.3.1 I receive an error "A problem occurred with this webpage so it was reloaded". The error will occur randomly at some stage through the module. Some modules runs perfectly while in others will have this issue. I generally view my content through the LearnUpon LMS, but have also tested in SCORM Cloud with the same result. I have also packaged without SCORM and uploaded to my website. I get this error on all three platforms at different points in the module. I have tried clearing my cache and resetting my iPad. Neither of these made any difference. The modules work well on a desktop/laptop.

Many thanks

Louise

I have a question:  Does the issue occur around about the same time in each case?  Does it occur after you have viewed more or less the same number of slides or same minutes of content?

If so, the issue could be related to exhausting the available RAM.

Try viewing the content through a more recent version of an iOS device that has more RAM.  If you ARE currently viewing it on a recent 2gig or 4 gig iOS device, then try a different mobile browser.

Hi Rod. Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

It occurs at the same place in a module rather than at the same time. For example, it might happen on slide 20, then I can exit, clear may cache, check all the other apps are closed then go back into the module. I can go directly to slide 20 using the TOC and it will happen again straight away.

I have tried another browser (chrome) on the same device and cleared cache etc and it crashes at the same place with Chrome's 'Aw Snap' page - 'something went wrong while displaying this page'.

I have tried Chrome on an Android device and the problem does not occur.

I havn't yet tried it on a more recent iOS device, but will find one and do so.

    Thanks again

    Louise

I have tested this on multiple iOS devices now with the same result on each at the same point in the module. I have realised that it occurs when the slide is complex and has many elements on it. I have overcome the problem by simplifying the content on the slide.
