Problems with click boxes and slide not pausing.

Hi there,

I continue to struggle with trying to keep the slides paused while the user interacts with buttons or click boxes on my pages.I've tried using the click box hidden out of the way trick, but it doesn't work for me.

I would be forever grateful if someone could take a look at this slide and let me know to I can get this to work. This is something I will be doing over and over again (in various different ways) so I really need to figure this out once and for all.

Is someone willing to work with me on this? Even if it's off line, I'm happy to post the results once we get them worked out.

Here's the problem:

On the slide, the user has several options to choose from. They are to click on the options they think are correct. I have placed click boxes over each option with actions attached. However, the slide seems to march merrily on it's way with each click until finally the click boxes are no longer available to click. What can I do to stop this?

Captivate 4 file attached.

Hi there

I have downloaded the file and am looking at it in Captivate.

What seems to be happening is that when you click, the pause is released. You therefore need a way to "reset" the playhead.

Why not try creating an Advanced Action that performs the showing, hiding, and playhead reset?

It's fairly straightforward. You use a Standard Action of Show. Standard Action of Hide. Then follow at the end with a playhead reset. Normally I use an Assignment action. I assignrdcmndGotoFrameAndResume the value of rdiinfoCurrentFrame - 5 (to back up 5 frames).

Thank you so much. This is a little beyond my experience as a newbie, but I am going to give it a try and report back. I now have hope, though!
