Progress Indicators were incorrect

I'm using Captivate 3's "random questions/pools" feature for my quiz, which is wonderful! However, here's the snag that I encountered -- I placed a plain slide in the page 1 position, and placed the quiz instructions on that page 1. The rest of the pages were "random question" slides. However, Captivate numbered the first slide (i.e., just the Instructions page) as a question slide, with it's Progress Indicator at the bottom (i.e., 1 of 28).

I could find no place to turn the Progress Indicator off or to edit it.

So this was my work-around: I added a regular question slide to the beginning of the quiz and placed the quiz instructions at the top of that question slide, and moved the actual question to the bottom. Then I deleted the regular plain slide that I had previously used as Slide 1. So now when Captivate starts numbering the questions from the first slide, it's OK, because now there IS a question on that slide.

If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.

Request for Adobe: In the future Captivate release, could you please allow a developer to delete or edit a quiz's Progress Indicator. Thank you.

Actually there are two insights to this progress indicator problem --

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

1 - Problem may relate to the SEQUENCE in which I developed the blank slide and the quiz slide.
Perhaps my problem was that I developed the quiz question slides first, and added the blank slide to the beginning later. So don't do it this way. RATHER -- To get the progress indicator to number ONLY the quiz slides and not include the introductory slide, I need to develop the blank (introductory) slide first, and after that develop the quiz slides.

-------------
2 - Another issue related to my CLICK BOX on that first blank slide, i.e., "Click here to begin the quiz" --
Suresh Jayaraman from Adobe informed me that the Reporting tab of the click box has an “Include in Quiz” option, which I needed to de-select. That solved the problem. : )

This is happening for me as well. I have three slides, and then six random question slides that are numbered 1 of 7, 2 of 7, etc. when there are only six slides.Even if I move them so that all the random question slides are at the start of the file, the same thing happens. I can't get the numbering correct no matter what I do. Any ideas? I'll be happy to send the files to an individual contributor, but am hesitant to post them here. Many thanks for your help.

Rick, thanks for your note. Where and how would I post a screen capture?

Since I have a workaround for now, I'm OK for this project. My project deadlines are keeping me tied up for now, but when work returns to a reasonable load, I'd be glad to share a screen print with you.

Hi Jan

Can you post a screen capture of that? I've never seen that behavior.

As for your note to Adobe, you are best off if you advise them via their preferred channel so that they may log and track the request. You do that via the Wish Form.
