Project not opening in Captivate 8.01

I am in the process of creating a project in Adobe Captivate 8.01. After spending a few days on it so far, this morning I went to open it up and I get a message saying that Captivate cannot open it and offering a number of reasons, none of which, apart from possible corruption of the file, appear to be appropriate.

What do I do from here?? Is there any service Adobe offer to try to open/reinstate the file?

    Rod,

    A thousand thanks! I was able to get into the Captivate cache and restore the project using the directions provided in your link. There were a few strange anomalies with how Windows indicates dates on folders, but eventually I found the relevant cache and restored it. You saved me a few days work!!
