Properties 'Effects' Box

I am new to Captivate and have created a responsive project. When I go to the Properties panel to format text in Buttons, text in Shape boxes, or text in Text entry boxes, there is no Effects drop-down box in the Style panel. Do I have to perform some action to enable it? I am on a 30 day trial version.

Oh, that is a shame. Is there any comperable text effects for fluid box projects? I appreciate your help.

Not really. If you find this so important for the learning efficency, you can create the text with all the effects you want in Illustrator or Photoshop and create an image which you import in Captivate.

Effects are in the Timing Properties panel, not under the Style tab of the Properties panel. If you don't see that panel (in the right docking station) open it from the Windows menu.

You can also use the right-click menu which has the option 'Apply Style' when you have an object selected. The Timing Properties panel will open automatically.

    Thanks for the reply Lilybiri.

The Effects drop-down box is situated next to the Color and Highlight boxes on the videos that I have watched. This feature allows the text effects (and custom text effects) to be applied, such as Stroke color, Bevel and emboss, and Outerglow, amongst other text effects.

Terminology problem. You are not talking about Effects, but about Type effects. That feature is not available in all situations. Are you creating a non-responsive or a responsive project? What are you using as text container: shape or caption?
