Publish problems - Please help

Hi All,

This has been bothering me for awhile, but I haven't written about it because I just did a re-publish and the problem went away. But it is happening more now and would like to know what is the issue...

Setup:
1.5 GIG RAM; Captivate 3; 84 Slides; no audio at the moment; All slide quality set to Standard

Problem 1:
Sometimes when I publish to swf, it stops and hangs at "Writing swf file tags to stream". I then cancel, close the project and captivate, restart captivate re-open file, re-publish and it then works...

Anyone know what the issue is here??

Problem 2:
Sometimes after publishing and looking at the project, we will find white spots on the screen and/or areas of other slides just pasted on the current slide. These spots are more like blocks that have been stripped out of the background it seems. Almost like rendering of the slide has been botched..

Once we notice this, I re-publish and most of the time the boxes are gone! Very weird, and scary because publishing seems inconsistent...So, for now I just keep republishing and the issues go away...

These two problems we are experiencing with publishing scare me, every time I hit publish I am scared because I don't know what will happen.

If anyone can shed any light on these matters we would appreciate it!

thank-you!!

    Hi frenchi30

For the white blocky things, you may wish to try increasing the quality of the slides. If it's just happening on a few slides, try looking at the Slide properties.

If it's happening with no discernable pattern, try looking at the settings for the project. (Edit > Preferences... > Project node)

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks Rick for another very fast reply!

I will try bumping up the quality to the best next time it happens.. It's just werid cause it doesn't do it all the time... I don't want to increase the file size with the quality if I don't have too... But thanks, I will keep that in mind and let you know if any more issues arise.

Any ideas on this "Writing swf file tags to stream" oddity, or anyone else?

    Thanks again Rick.
