Good day all,

We are wrapping up our first project.

There is a lot of content, quizzes, drop and drag.

What is the recommended time frame per slide allowing for participant to pause and think.

Some of the questions are quite hard and approx 8-10 questions/drop drag per slide

Thanks,

the support has been brilliant!

Shona

The title of your topic is very confusing, because there is no link with the explanation of the question.

Default Frames per second in Captivate is 30FPS and is stored in the system variable cpInfoFPS. You can edit that variable under Preferences, Publish settings. But that is only relevant for the quality of the movie.

Quiz slides are paused automatically at 1.5secs, and the learner can take as much time as he/she wants. Even for the second step in the Submit process, the learner can take all the necessary time before proceeding to read the feedback messages. If you do not have narration on quiz slides, the default duration (3secs) is fine.

Same for drag&drop slides. They also have an automatically inserted pausing point at 1.5secs, although it is not visible on the Timeline (as is the case for other quiz sldies). Look in the Drag&Drop panel.  No need to extend the duration for a D&D slide, learner can think and pause as long as he want, the submit process is only one step here but start only when he/she clicks Submit button. The feedback messages appear for the default 3seconds, but if you think that is too short, you can increase that duration in their Timing Properties panel.

If you also have content slides (not mentioned) which are nor quiz, nor D&D, you could also pause those slides at their end. I would insert a Next shape button (or an image used as buttonà on the used master slides for those content slides. That button, when keeping the default setup, will pause each slide based on that master slide at its last frame.

    Personally,

I allow the learner to decide when they are ready.

I never let projects auto play from one slide to the next.

Make a button available for them to advance on their terms.
