Publish to DVD ?

I have created a slideshow in Captivate v4.

I want to save the slideshow as an autorun .exe but to save to to DVD, not CD.

Is this possible, and do I just follow same process for saving it as exe for for CD but instead put it onto DVD?

I did this recently for my Sisters 50th..  I ended up using a free converter to convert the swf or other format to a DVD format so it can be played on most DVD's. this depends on what media you use form what I understand.

Hi Noel

I'm pretty sure the process is mostly the same. You just copy the content to the media.

What I'm unsure about is how the DVD will behave. Specifically what your expectations are for it. Is the DVD going to be given to computer users and all users will be running on their computers?

Or is the intent to allow folks to pop the DVD into their DVD players connected to their televisions and allow them to view your Captivate movies in all their glory on a home theatre? If this is the case I'm not sure what (if anything) you would need to do. I'm aware that DVD that works this way has a specific format and you would likely need some specialized software to accomplish it. You may also need to publish Captivate content in a specific manner. I'm doubtful EXE would work.

Cheers... Rick

This is, for once, not a work related application. It was my father's 90th birthday recently, and I have got some pictures from the day.

They have no computer at home, but they do have a DVD player linked to their TV. I was hoping I could send them the slide show on DVD and tell them to pop it in just like any other DVD and they could see the slide show from the DVD onto their TV.

I will complete the slide show and try it at home myself...trial and error i think.

Thanks anyway.
