Publish to SharePoint

This may seem a bit off topic, but I see your mentioning of 'basic system simulations.' Do you create those sims in Demo mode or in Training/Assessment mode? Know that it is possible to use Captivate Classic along with the new version. If you want only demo simulations I would recommend to install Captivate Classic and use its Video Demo feature for the demo's. It has a lot of advantages over the software sims in Demo mode: dedicated, non-destructive editor (with more features than the former FMR slides), native output to MP4. As Rod mentioned in a previous answer,  you can have MP4 files on a Sharepoint server. However the new version doesn't allow output to MP4 at all, whereas the Classic version allows it. Of course you'll lose interactivity, so this commend is not valid for simulations in Training or Assessment mode. 

It is not that hard to install a webserver. Even local launching from the index.html file can cause lot of problems with not all content playing properly.

SharePoint is not really compatible with Captivate's HTML5 output.  If you intend to create any kind of interactive e-learning with Captivate you really need to be able to upload the output to a web server and allow end users to link to it.  An LMS is really a web server that tracks end user interactions with content stored there. 

SharePont acts more like a file server than a web server and does not preserve all the linkages between files that are required for Captivate HTML5 output to play.  I've seen many people on this forum over the years that wanted to use SharePoint to distribute Captivate HTML5 output but (as far as I know) none have been able to.  At my place of work they have SharePoint experts and they haven't been able to pull it off either.  The only acceptable output option for SharePoint would be to publish direct to MP4 video, but that's not interactive.
