Question

Published course with Closed Captioning won't load when hosted

I'm creating a course using Captivate 10.0.0.192 and I added Closed Captioning to a few video files and one narration file. I'm toggling the CC on and off using a button that I created from a smart shape. The CC works as expected when I publish the course (to HTML5 only) and test locally, but when I load it to my website to test I just get a spinning loading animation. It never loads.

I pulled out the screens containing the Closed Captioning and then the course will load, which is what leads me to believe the CC is the issue.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks,

Robin

Thanks for the update. Also, please avoid using special characters in CC. That may also give you crash sometimes.

I fell into CC issue few months back with CP2017 and below was the fix was shared by Adobe support team.

Below are the steps for downloading and applying the hotfix.

Please download the zip file from the link below:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/oqxqhlzecc5j5ap/hotfix2017.zip?dl=0

    1)Unzip the folder.

You may consider taking backup of the following files(and folder) from the Captivate installation folder:

    ·         CPPublic.dll

    ·         CPPublish.dll

    ·         CPHTMLPublish.dll

    ·         sdk folder

2)Copy the contents and replace it in the Adobe Captivate 2017 installation folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2017 x64.

(sdk folder contents will be merged with the existing path in installation folder. User need not copy the contents and path separately)

3)Clear preferences from C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2017 x64\utils. Launch Captivate and verify the fix.

if this doesn't work it could be an project specific issue.
