Published swf/html doesn't run with Microsoft Edge

Question

We created an educational program in Captivate 7. When published as an .swf/html, the program runs smoothly using the Google Chrome and Internet Explorer browsers. When we try to run it in on a Windows 10 system with Microsoft Edge, the program never starts. Preloader is set to 25% and it always launches instantly with Chrome and Explorer.

Am I missing something? A setting? An Add-on? another program? or is there a compatibility issue?

kurtv has the answer...but also note, you may NOT need to do SWF at all.

If you've published as both, then you're likely loading the 'multiscreen.html' file, which detects the browser/screen and then loads with the Flash version or the HTML version.

If you load the 'index.html' file, however, that forces the HTML version of the project to load.

Most desktop browsers support HTML projects (in my testing)...so if your projects are not terribly complex and you're HTML versions are working fine on mobile, you may want to just use HTML-only by default.

(if loading these into an LMS, then just publish as HTML, not SWF, upload that resulting package, and see how well it works on various browsers).
