Question

Published swf not playing

I created a project in Captivate 6 and then I was upgraded this week to 8. Since the upgrade, the only change I made was adding audio. I've been able to preview the course in my browser (F12) with no issues. I didn't have any issues with the project publishing in 6. But, now in 8, when I publish I'm unable to view the output, it's a blank screen and when I try to open the swf file, it just sits there "loading".

The cptx file is large, 51kb. I'm trying to view on IE 11. I have my pre-load to 15%. I selected the output format as SWF, force re-publish and scalable HTML content. I did try selecting HTLM5 as the output, but no luck.

Any suggestions as to what I should do to troubleshoot this issue?

    Preview works fine? Odd.

    Sounds like a permissions/system issue...

Are you trying to review it from a website or locally? If local, could be a security issue. Get that piece up on a webserver of some type and test from an actual URL.

Clear your browser cache, and/or try a different browser.

Don't open the SWF itself, open the parent HTML page...(if you're not already).

    Helps?

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I ended up creating a new "blank" project and copied a few slides from my existing project into it. Then I published that new file. Figuring if it was a server/security issue, that course wouldn't "work" either, but it did. Weird, but I ended up copying all my slides into a new project and everything seems to be fine.
