Question

publishing a video recording in captivate 9

Hello, using Captivate 9, i recorded a video showing how an application is used. I chose the application window size. Then, I added captions and hilite boxes into the cpvc file and then I published it as an mph4 and placed it into a slide in my training deck in captivate. The outcome is not so good. It looks kind of fuzzy. What can i do to make it look just like my screen as I am recording it? I tried to play with the quality settings but no luck. Is there another way to add a screen recording into my captivate training?

"I published it as an mph4 and placed it into a slide in my training deck in captivate."

WHen you publish as an MP4, you are compressing the file. By placing it back into Captivate, you are forcing another compression cycle. This is what is causing the loss of quality, even if it is not resized, it will lose quality from multiple compression passes.

The best option is to publish the MP4 file to the webserver, or LMS, then create a link from the Cp 'Training Deck' that opens the MP4 file. This will avoid issues with multiple compression cycles, differences in resolution for the MP4 file and the training deck, etc.

Did you set the video capture quality to 32bit in Preferences?

Did you resize the video at all when you inserted it into your project?
