Publishing Issues with Animated Text

When I publish a captivate project to my local drive (NOT the network drive) sometimes - and by sometimes I mean 99% of the time - somehow the animated text stops working all togehter. Before publishing the preview looks perfect with the text animations. Then, once published, all the files (including the captivate file preview!) does not have any of the animated text on them. The animated text info still shows correctly on the .cp file itself though. Has anyone else ran into this problem & if so is there a fix? I've searched the forum & haven't seen anything related. Thanks in advance!

I have followed the instructions regarding updating the dll file (CPAnimationUtils) with no success. I am using Capt. 5, Win7, Flash 10. I do have a button on the page. Please elaborate on setting the "pause."

I have been using animated texts as slide titles on my project slides.  I've noticed that in preview and after I publish the project, sometimes (but not always) the animated texts don't work.  Each slide has one animated text (the slide title) only.  I may also have an .flv file on the slide or an image file.  I haven't changed any of the default settings in Captivate 4, and I have the Animated Texts appear at the start of the slide and appear until the end of every slide.

Usually, the animated text is one of the older layers on my slides, since I create the background, then create the slide title (using animated text) next.  Once the slide is done, I duplicate it and then start deleting the images, audio and perhaps .flv files I've added from the previous slide.

Here's my question:  Is this a user error (i.e., am I doing something wrong?) or do I have some preference or other setting set incorrectly--or is this a bug?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure if this applies to these issues or not. I had a problem a while back with animated text that only partially completed.

It was either Captiv8r or RoboWizard who had me set the timing for the text a bit longer and it worked. I did not have any thing blocking the text but I just did not have it on the slide long enough.

If all else fails, might give that a try.

    Hi Jeff

It was either Captiv8r or RoboWizard...

Actually, both of those monikers are one and the same. Me

I log in differently and have the forums depositing E-Mail to two different E-Mail accounts, which is why I have the two aliases. Seems the forums only allow subscribing to a single E-Mail address. So I receive post notifications for RoboHelp under RoboWizard and for Captivate under Captiv8r.

Someday I hope Adobe fixes things so I can use the same address for multiple forums. (hey, a guy can dream, no?)

    Rick,

Thanks for letting us know. By either name you always give great advice and I appreciate everything I have learned in the forums. Thanks for all your help.

Having the same issue - animated text works great in the published presentation until the 31st slide, at that point the animated text only partially displays through the 39th slide. I removed the animated text and replaced it with a vanilla text caption - published fine.

Saved the file, went back removed the text caption and replace with animated text. Again all looks well in the preview and animated text fails beginning with the 31st slide.

Any ideas would preserve what hair I have left.

    Welcome to our community, OTTStormn

On slide 31 where you are having the issues, what other objects are on the slide? Button or Click Box perhaps? If so, check the timing for when the pause is occurring. My guess is that may be the issue.

    Cheers... Rick

Thank You Captiv8r - I have click boxes on the slide but no pauses. The text animation is in the top layer and no objects on any layer are infringing on the space used by the animation.

I have moved the animation to other locations on the slide as well as changing the layer it is on. I'm only on the prototype stage on this project so it isn't critical for me right now - just really annoying :-)
