Purchase or Subscribe

Hello,

After looking at Captivate for the last few years, I think I'm finally ready to invest.  The question is do I purchase or subscribe?  I'm an educator, so I qualify to purchase for $349.  The monthly subscription is $29.99/month.  Other than saving a whole $10.88 over the course of a year, are there any other advantages or disadvantages to buying versus subscribing?  I don't want to get several months into it and wished I had picked the other option.

    With a subscription you are entitled to upgrade for free as long as you pay the monthly price. With a perpetual education license, you'll have to buy a new license when a new version is released. AFAIK educational license have no way to upgrade for a lower cost, which is possible with full-price perpetual licenses. Up to you.

    When was Captivate 2017 released?  I imagine that since it is already the end of March, that a new version would likely be released within the next year?

    CP2017 was released in April of last year. No idea about the next release at all.
