Question slide does not hold answer choice when using TOC

Hi - I've developed several courses in CAP8/9 and ran into a weird problem with the question slides when users go back and review the course using the TOC. I must say that the question slides are customized (using advanced actions) so that when the user answers the question once and then reviews it (either using the Back button or the TOC), the Next button shows up so that the user can advanced to the next slide without getting stuck.

Here is the situation. Let's say the course has 35 slides and three question slides sprinkled through out. The user go through the course, answers all the questions and then on slide 35 clicks on the TOC and goes back to a previous chapter. As the user advances through the course again and gets to a question slide they have already answered, they find that the answer choice is empty again (as if they never answered it), so they can re-answer the question or click the Next button to go to the next slide (without answering the question). If the user uses the Back button instead of the TOC to review the course, the answer choice stays and the user cannot answer the question again.

The problem is that if the user does not answer the question again and the answer choice is empty, the score that goes back to the LMS is a zero for that question, so it messes up the total score for the module. The module ends up with a weird score like 33.33%. And it only happens if the user reviews the course using the TOC instead of the Back button.

Has any ever come across this problem?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You have to explain what you mean by 'question slides are customized using advanced actions'. If you really create custom question slides, you'll have to set them up so that they allow Review. For default question slides you can use but have to follow the rules of the built in design.

I guess I should say quiz slides. On the quiz slide, in the Quiz tab>Actions>On Success, there is an advanced action that A) assigns a variable associated with the quiz question to 1 and B) advances to the next slide (Go to Next Slide). On Enter, there is an advanced action that shows the Next button, if the variable is not equal to 0. BTW - I inherited these quiz slides and advanced actions.

Also, I forgot to add that the first time the user answers a quiz question they have to answer the question correctly before they can advance to the next slide.

    I hope this makes sense.

I would need more information concerning the advanced actions. If you talk about the Next button that is default for a Quiz slide, that button means 'Skip' during the quiz, which would explain why the answer is not registered at all. Or is the Next button a shape button (custom)? If some embedded objects on quiz slides are deleted you can have weird issues as well.
