Question Slide Issues

Hiya,

Firstly I have to revisit something that I know has been asked before:

Is there no way to amend the default Question Slide Format or do we really have to format each question individually?

Secondly, having gone through the pain of formatting each question, Backgrounds, text locations & colours etc. Is it possible to format the question review area? The default black & white jars horribly with our corporate background.

Finally for now, the Review area itself - it does not seem to want to behave, it is not constrained by the placeholder that appears on the question slides? Do we need to give it the whole width of a slide to display itself without crashing into other onscreen elements?

Cheers

Mountainboy - sadly, miles away from a decent mountain right now....

    Hi MountainBoy

Yes, each question must be formatted individually. However, if you would like to make the developers aware that you would like to see more customizability with these, please click here and complete the wish form.

No way I'm aware of to influence the review area. See above.

    Cheers... Rick

Thanks for the input matturley! It's not perfect, but it helps a lot.

As a review for others, I create a Question slide and format it the way I want it (custom bgd, type positions, colors, etc). I then create the other 24 Question slides without formatting. I go back to the formatted Question #1 and and double click on each item and select Apply to All. You need to do this for every item on the slide. Several things don't work though. For the actual question and answers, it doesn't apply the positioning information and the Bold formatting. Does anyone else have this issue?

Thanks for the tip! This step alone will save many hours of tedious work!

I am curious on this one. I will definitely yield to others experinece on this as I do not use the quiz questions much as I rely on custom flash objects for most quizzes. However, I have been able to go to a question slide, change the backgorund image, text properties of labels, answers, etc. and select apply all (specifying that it should apply to all slides) and it does indeed apply to all of the slides (currently practicing the quiz settings in a quiz with 10 questions).

For mine and others knowledge, what properties specifically are you refering to?

Anyone know if Captivate 2 will get an update that will allow you to Duplicate a Question slide in the near future?

This metaphor is used for non-question slides and would solve the formatting question everyone is trying to deal with. You could take the time to layout your question once for each question type you might use and then just keep duplicating and changing the question and answers. The program is so great but this is a very frustrating hole in the boat!

Hi MCdev and welcome to our community

I can tell you that because this would be new functionality, you will most likely not see this in any version 2 update. Assuming it were to become available, it would almost certainly be an enhancement provided by a version 3 or beyond.
