Question time limit soft locks the course

So I had a client want a timed quiz and I explained to them the only option in the new captivate is that you can set a time limit per question… But now I’ve hit a new issue. When that time limit is reached, it pops up saying time has run out and that they can click anywhere to continue… but clicking does nothing. It doesnt take you to the next slide effectively soft locking the user in the course.

Am I overlooking a setting? Is this an unfinished feature? It makes no sense to me why there are no options of what happens when the time runs out...

This sounds like a bug rather than a setting you missed, as timed questions can fail to advance after timeout. Try adding a manual “go to next slide” action or check for conflicting slide settings. It’s a bit like searching for appliance repair near me—sometimes you need a workaround before a proper fix arrives.

    Hi @Stefanie28429464r7gr ,
Request you to kindly share a sample project at captivatehelp@adobe.com where this scenario is occurring for you.

We figured out that if our question pool only had 2 questions (because it was a template) the timer would just lock the user on the question slide permanently… But for some reason when we added 5 questions it started working.

I have an NDA with the client so I likely shouldn’t be sharing the project file. But If I can replicate it in an empty file then I will send it over.

as a follow up - while I could get it to work, my coworker says the file still soft locks her out of completing the course if she lets the last question time out. We have opted to remove the timer all together as it is clearly unreliable in its current state.
