Quiz advancing automatically

Hi, I am creating a quiz. Each slide is set to pause at 1.5 seconds. Each slide is automatically advancing at 1.5 seconds.  I changed the On Enter setting to No Action and it still advanced.  I changed it to "Pause" and that works.  However, the HotSpot quiz question will not work with that setting.  Other than advancing automatically, the project works correctly.  Any suggestions?

You didn't tell that you use the Sumbit All feature. You need that button, don't move it off the slide. You did mess up the functionality, because it is linked to that button.

Do you know the consequences of Submit All? It allows you to navigate freely through the slides, but often causes problems as well. One of the problmes: if the user closes the course before having Submitted, everything is lost.

If you are talking about the default quiz slides, please never mess up with embedded objects. Those are the objects without a separate timeline. They have functionality built in. A quiz slide is meant to be used as it is designed. Did you delete any of those objects? It is fine to check/uncheck options that are available in the Quiz Propeties panel, but never delete any object, not on the master slide, not on quiz slides. The pausing point of the question slides is linked to the Submit button which triggers a two-step Submit process:

    1. Feedback messages appear and for Success or Last attempt the warning 'Press Y or click on the slide' is given; the playhead is not released, but remains paused. If it is not a last attempt, the Retry feedback appears and user can change the answer.
    2. When the user clicks on the slide or presses Y, the playhead is released and the actions specified for Success or Last attempt are executed.

From your explanation it seems like you screwed up this process.

You can tweak the functionality, but certainly not by adding Pause commands. Maybe I could help if you explain exactly what you want.

I did not change anything on the slide.  I did move the Submit All button off the slide so the learner would NOT see that.  I have the Prev/Next and Clear button on the slide. When the learner gets to the last slide, before the Scoring slide where they can Review their answers, it automatically puts the pop-up asking them to Review or Submit All.

I did NOT like the Submit button showing on every quiz slide b/c the learner seems to want to click that and they have not finished the quiz.

So, there are no other objects on the slide.  I have done nothing else.  Other than move that submit button off the slide.  I have a screenshot but not sure how to insert it into this blog.
