When someone clicks the back button on a Quiz Slide, then the user advances forward to the Quiz Slide again, it will not allow the user to select the an answer.

A message appears " You did not answer the question completely". And the user can't select the Clear or Submit buttons. This message appears if the user did or didn't answer the quiz question.

Please advise.

Hi BaileyA74 and welcome to the Captivate community!

My understanding is that Captivate assumes you will answer each question as you see it and that the question should be "locked" once you leave the slide.

Based on an entry in the Captivate online help, you should be able to still allow the user to answer a previously-viewed question by increasing the maximum number of attempts for the interaction, so give that a try and see if it works for you.

The original help text entry for the Allow backward movement setting in the Quiz preferences is copied below for reference:

    Allow backward movement

Select this option to let users view previous slides in the project while taking the quiz.

Note: If a user leaves a quiz by going back, one attempt for the quiz will be elapsed. Even entering and leaving the quizzes by using the back button can result in the user losing all his attempts to answer the quiz and might fail the quiz. Authors should keep this in mind when using backward movement in a quiz.
