Question

Quiz buttons disappearing

I created a course that is 40 slides long, and then came back and inserted question slides peppered through out as the topics progressed.  Here is my problem, my first 5 questions (which appear after 5 slides) work great...then the user views about 5 more slides and is presented with additional questions.  This next set of questions the Submit and Clear button are only present for a brief second and then they disappear leaving only the back button.  The user is unable to select any of the answers in the quiz.

If I use f8 to view the course starting from the quiz slides in question they work fine.

The only potential problem I see is that there are several items on the slides before and they have advanced actions that jump to slides at the end of the presentation (that the user can only get to with the button from those slides) and then jumps back.  So this means that captivate is going past the quiz results slide and then jumping back again, which I thought may confuse CP making it think that the quiz had been completed.   I don't like this theory though becuase I do essentially the same thing in my opening slides prior to the first 5 questions which all work fine.

Any suggestions of where to look here would be very appreciated...I'm stumped

I am using Captivate 5.5

Thanks,

Brian

    Hello,

As Vish points out, in CP5.5 the quiz scope is fixed, static and jumping out of the quiz scope is perhaps what is bothering you. However you can extend the quiz scope so that it covers the total file: have a scored object at the beginning (that is start of the scope) and put the Score slide as latest slide (that is the end of the scope). If you do not use the score slide, have another scored object at the end of your file. Here a link to an article that explains Question slide functionality:

    Hello Brian,

The problem you are describing is related to Quiz Scope, once you go out of the Quiz Scope, captivate takes this as leaving the quiz, and that's the reason questions get disabled for answering. We solved this issue in Captivate 6 where it is possible to go out of quiz scope and come back inside and still answer the questions.

Can you try setting multiple attempts to the quiz (In Quiz Preferences)

    Thanks,

    Vish
