Question

Quiz does not always display the "answers" to choose from

Hi,

This is a hard one to categorize.

We have a very simple 13 question quiz (not a bank, just individual questions). People who go straight through have no difficulty. However, if you go back and forward slides during the quiz, close out and come back in, etc. the quiz questions only show the ABCD but no text. It's the ultimate multiple guess at that point.

It was written in Captivate 5.0.1.624 and I had already installed the patch that came out when Captivate 5 first was released. I do not have Captivate 5.5.

Troubleshooting already done...

  • Doesn't have to do with the Flash release
  • Doesn't have to do with the IE version used

We use Cornerstone for our LMS.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Joy

The fact that this happens AFTER you relaunch the course makes me wonder whether or not Resume Data from the LMS is causing this issue.

As a test, tick the box in LMS Customisation Settings to Never Send Resume Data and then test the project again in your LMS.

Lilibiri... thanks, I installed the patch but it still does it...

RodWard... it also does it if you stay in the module and just move backward and forward question to question... and some point (which I haven't been able to determine what is the trigger) it just breaks...

I will try your suggestion though. I'm wondering if it might be the way the content is being delivered by the LMS. Captivate and Cornerstone seem to have a strained relationship at times... lol

Keep the suggestions coming...

Thanks,

Joy

When moving back and forward to slides within a Captivate project containing a quiz, you need to remember that, if at any time you move outside the "quiz scope", Captivate will freeze the quiz questions.  Quiz Scope starts with the first scored object in the movie and ends at the Quiz Results screen.

To expand the quiz scope in projects where you WANT the users to move back and forth, you can put a scored button on the first slide.

Hello,

Do not have a ready answer, but want to warn you that this is not the latest version, please update to 5.0.2.630.  It seems a strange issue, never did see it on these forums.
