Quiz Panel Question

I have updated the preferences in captivate 9 for Quiz default labels.  I want "Skip:"   to display "Next"  -  I entered it in my preferences.

In the quiz panel, it says "Skip."   How can I change that?

Thanks,

Norma

    Correct answer Lilybiri

Why? It has only the functionality of a Skip button and if you make it Next it will be very confusing to the user: his answer will not be counted if he uses the Next button instead of the Submit button which happens often.

That is the reason why in the Quiz Properties panel that button is indicated as being a 'Skip' button, which means that the user is allowed not to answer this question. I do not always agree with the used terminology in Captivate but this IS really a very correct indication.

In previous versions that Skip button had a double functionality: during quiz it meant 'Skip' as is still the case in CP9; but during Review it was needed as Next button. That is no longer the case in CP9: there are dedicated buttons for Back and Next during Review. This is IMO a big improvement over previous confusing situations. That is the reason I do not understand your request at all.

Forgot to mention that you can never modify the design of a panel, only choose options.

I really hope you understand my concern now. Have a look at this blog post, where I explained how to avoid the confusion for users between 'Submit' and 'Next' (being a Skip button) for versions before 9:

I will most certainly look at the blog post.  I do understand your concern; and understand the difference between skip and next.
