Question

Quiz pausing after 3 slides

I have created a quiz with 10 questions (4 multiple choice, 3 true/false, 2 fill in the blank, and 1 sequence) and everything works properly.

But when I go to preview the quiz slides, I answer 3 questions, but the slide just sits there. So it'll give me the "correct" message and when I click on the page or press Y, it will not go to the next slide even though I have it set up to do so.

If I close out and preview the project again but from the slide after the one I got stuck on, it will work for another 3 slides and then gets stuck again.

I'm not exactly sure what is causing this and how to fix it.

Any help is appreciated.

Did you customize the quizzing master slide, which is the same for the types of questions you mention? If yes, what exactly were the changes? Indeed, as Rod points out, you can create a mess if you 'delete' an embedded object (has no individual timeline) from that master slide or from the quiz slides. You can uncheck options, to avoid some objects of showing up, but those that cannot be deactivated need to remain. More information about embedded objects and their functionality:

Although I doubt this could be a cause, check also the option for the Required field under Quiz Preferences, Settings. Which option did you choose? The regularity of 3 quiz slides is bothering me.

Have you removed any of the default captions from these quiz slides?  E.g. Have you removed the caption that identifies the question slide as being multiple choice or true/false etc?

If so, that would probably be the reason your quiz slides are malfunctioning.  The captions are actually all required.  If you have deleted them, try using the option to reset the quiz question to the Master Slide original format.  That should restore any missing components.

If you have NOT deleted any components, the problem may be a corrupted project file.
