quiz question answers with superscripted portions reset to "option _ shown here" when hovering

I am making math quizzes in Captivate and whenever I have an exponent (portions superscripted in the answers) it resets the answer back to the original "option _ shown here" and I can't figure out how to change the text when hovering. Any ideas or work arounds?
