Quiz Questions

Hi,

I am working on a module, and there is a quiz component at the end that users must complete. I am unsure how best to set it up, but these are the requirements. The questions combine a written scenario with a video clip/picture and a question (all are yes/no answers). They need to be graded and have an option at the end to review their answers and the feedback for review before giving the user a chance to retake.  They can take it as many times as needed to obtain a pass, which is more about learning and completing with understanding than anything.  It would also be nice to be able to randomize the order of the questions so not always in the same order for all users.

  1. I am unsure how to get both the video/picture on a true/false question side. Initially, I set a slide with the scenario/video and a button to answer questions, which goes to a true/false slide. I know this is not the proper process, or the answer would not necessarily follow the correct question when it is randomized.
  2. How can I randomize the questions once I have them set up correctly?
  3. Is the review and re-take the quiz built in as part of the results page where I can define feedback for review before they retake the quiz? (I haven't got that far yet.)

Additionally, It would also be nice to be able to potentially have question pools with multiple options to randomly pull from (i.e., 5 in a pool for types of harassment and choose 2, 5 in a pool on communication, choose 2 for the final quiz, etc.) for the final quiz.

Sorry for all the questions, still on the Captivate learning curve 🥹

TIA.

Adobe Captivate does not just allow adding any asset to a question slide. You can only have a question component on a question slide. However, there may be a few ways to display a picture on a question slide:

    - Add an image to the slide background

    - Add an image to the slide card background

    - Add a header (or footer, but header is probably better); and add an image to the header.

I suspect this last option is your best option!

In all cases, you will have to be congizant of how the image will display on different devices/screensizes.

Do you need help setting that up?

To randomly select questions to display, you'll use a Random question slide. If you have already created non-random question slides, you can cut/copy/paste to the question pools.

To set up a question pool, click the + to add a new slide and select Random (bottom-right icon). Once added, make sure the Random slide is selected and in the properties panel, select the + next to Question Pool to create a new pool (or you can select the dropdown under question pool to select a question slide from a previously created pool). You can certainly create multiple pools; or pools of different topics and then simply create a Random slide and select from the appropriate pool. You add one Random slide for each question you want; and you control the number of questions pulled from each pool.

Reach out with questions and we can go through each one.
