Quiz Questions - Can questions be skipped?

I have quiz questions throughout my Captivate eCourse under development, and some questions will not apply to some of the students.  The eCourse will not be scored, only completed.  How can I set up  quiz questions where some students can skip a question while others respond?

Sure, sorry, I'm using Captivate 5.5.   I did some research and testing, and think a solution might be:

  1. Create a 5th answer  (E) through Quiz Properties and type in the text "This question doesn't apply to me"
  2. SELECT the answer (E)  "This answer doesn't apply to me"
  3. Go to ADVANCED ANSWER OPTIONS from the Right Panel.
  4. CHECK the Advanced Answer Option
  5. Use the drop down menu next to ACTION:  and SELECT  Go to the next slide

That way I can still maintain one cptx file with one quiz.

Unless you have a better suggestion.  I'm all ears!

Your solution is quite elegant and should do the trick.

The only other way to achieve similar results would be to have the user make some interactive choices prior to getting to the quiz and have these interactions set values of custom variables that would then be used to determine which questions each student would see.  Each question slide would check the variables On Slide Enter using Conditional Advanced Actions and if the question did not apply to this student then it would skip to the next question.

Your approach is definitely simpler and easier to maintain, but it only allows you to use one type of quiz question.

Could you offer some more details and tell which version you are using? Is the Skip button not a sufficient solution? And do you not want to show at least some result to the students?
