Quiz Settings

Hello!

I have a client who likes the captivate course to have the table of contents, and an embedded quiz that is "pass required." The request is that once the quiz is formally passed, the end user gets credit in the LMS system, but wants to have the option of the end user to be able to get back into the LMS at any time and review the course content as needed without disrupting the LMS prior understanding of "passed and complete". Unfortunately, all the settings I have modified thus far has not allowed me to do this. Once a user "passes" the course advances, but if the user uses the table of contents to go back to slides before the quiz - it resets it, and requires the user to take the quiz again.

Any help would be much appreciated! THANK YOU!

The Captivate module itself does not 'remember' the fact that the learner has successfully completed the quiz.  That's the job of the LMS.  Each time you re-open the same Captivate SCORM module it relies on getting certain information from the LMS to know whether or not the learner has already completed it.

Also, a GOOD LMS usually has some option whereby the learner can opt between doing the module again for Credit or just to Review it.  However, I've seen lots of LMSs (even very expensive ones) that don't seem to have this feature. You should check with your LMS Administrator to see if they can configure the course in the LMS so that it works this way.  It may be possible to have the LMS work so that it will ONLY allow the learner to Review the content after they have already passed the quiz.  I believe this type of thing is better to set up from the LMS end than from the SCORM itself.

Which version are you using, please?

What you describe is not a normal behavior at all. Where is the quiz: it seems not to be at the end? Do you allow multiple attempts on quiz level? It is good practice not to allow navigation by the TOC while the user is IN the quiz, but once the score slide has been viewed and the user passed the quiz, there is no reason why question slides would be reset.
