Random groups of Questions Captivate

Hi

I need to design an assessment where the questions are in groups of 3, there are 17 groups and 4 of the groups need to be picked randomly and all 3 questions in each asked.  I don't think this is possible in Captivate unless there is some way using variables.

Please can you let me know if there is a way?

Thanks

I don't understand the question well. Do you mean that you need a question pool with 12 questions (since all of them have to be taken) and you need 4 groups with 3 random questions? Did you try it?

Thanks for replying.  No I need to pick 4 groups of questions from a total of 17 groups and the choice of groups needs to be random but I need to ask all 3 fixed questions in a group.

You are NOT going to have this level of control with Captivate and its Question Pool functionality.  You cannot use Variables and Advanced Actions to change the basic functionality designed into the Question Pools and Randomised Quiz Question slides.

If the functionality you describe is essential to your course success then you may need to find yourself another tool.  But I don't know of any out there that will give you this level of flexibility.  You might need to program the entire course from the ground up to do it.  Hope your client has a big budget.
