Recording Slide hidden by Master Slide image

Hi there,

I am using Captivate 7.

I set a master slide at the beginning of my project. I wanted to add a simulation and did so by inserting a recording slide. When completed however, the recording is hidden by the master slide image. I can't find any way to move the master slide image to the back or bring the recording forward.

I can't remove the Master Slide image now as it would affect the rest of the project.

I tried recording a new software simulation project and copying those slides across to the original project but the same thing happened.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Sue

Why not duplicate the Blank child master page, you can give it another name and have the image on that page. Then apply it to all slides except the simulation slides that use the original Blank slide where you hide the main master slide objects. Since it is a common property, you can select all those slides and apply the duplicate child master slide. Hope this makes sense?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Check the Properties panel for those slides (you can select them all at once in the Filmstrip). And be sure to uncheck 'Master Slide Objects On Top' in the General accordion of that Properties panel. I don't know which master slide you used? If the image is on the Main Master slide, you can also check the properties of the child master slide that is applied to your simulation slides and uncheck 'Show Main Master Slide Objects'. You didn't specify about which Master slide you are talking.

Thank you Lilybiri,

it was the main master slide that I was using. I did as you suggested and went into the child slide (blank slide template) which the simulation slides were applied to and unchecked 'Show Main Master Slide Objects' and this worked.

Unfortunately though, most of the slides in the project are on the blank slide template so that means the image is gone from all of them.

I did try the other option but 'Master Slide Objects On Top' was already unchecked.

I didn't choose the blank slide for the simulation - it automatically recorded to that template. Is there some way I can change all of the slide types for the simulation slides to a template which isn't used anywhere else in the project? And then I could uncheck 'Show Main Master Slide Objects' for that template type?

Or some other solution?

Thanks again for your help.

I have removed the image as the master slide and just inserted it in the master slides of the file types I've used throughout the project. However, because the simulation records on to blank slide types, this did not help.

The majority of slides in the project use the blank template so I can't remove it from the blank master.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
