Recover a corrupted CPTX file

One of our developers had a massive system crash during a content review session, and the .CPTX project file (Cap 2017) was corrupted. Short of manually recreating the entire course, is it possible to recover the previous version, or to convert her published content back into a cptx? Wishful thinking perhaps, but it's worth asking.

Backup was not enabled? Cache folder, if you can find it, could be used. The folder has to be zipped and the extension changed to cptx.
