Recursive Quiz (return to quiz) skipping content slides - Captivate 8

In Captivate 8 we have created a simple course with 2 quiz slides. All quiz slides are recursive (with a wrong answer we will jump to the content slide and return to the quiz). We noticed that when we preview the content, the course skips 2 content slides not related to the quiz. This is strange as they are not hidden and have no action on entry or exit. Not sure why they would be skipped.

Here is what the course looks like

Slide 1 - content - no action on entry/exit

Slide 2 - content - no action on entry/exit

Slide 3 - content - Return to quiz

Slide 4 - content - no action on entry/exit

Slide 5 - content - no action on entry/exit

Slide 6 - content - Return to quiz

Slide 7 - content - no action on entry/exit

Slide 8 - quiz - jump to 2

Slide 9 - quiz - jump to 6


So as you can see slide 8 sends the user back to slide 2 and 3 to review the content then returns to the quiz slide 8. Slide 9 sends the users back to slide 6 for content and then returns the user back to the quiz on slide 9. What we are noticing is that when previewing the course (via preview from the toolbar) the course skips slide 4 & 5.   This is strange. It skips slide 4 & 5 the first time through (before triggering the jump to slide function). So we are not sure what is happening here. Can anyone offer some advice on how to address this problem?

There are many options under the Preview button, the first 'Play Slide' is not even a preview. What did you use?

The On Exit event is not to be trusted at all. You should use Remediation as it is meant to be used: a Next button with double functionality. When coming from a Question slide it will return to the question slide, when not it will be a normal Next button.

Which Preview technique? Did you try Preview in Browser or Preview HTML in browser? Do you have a custom next button that has the command 'Return to Quiz' attached to it like it should be for remediation?

We used the Preview function on the toolbar of Captivate between the Save and Publish options.

We do not have a custom Next button that has the "Return to Quiz" command. We have the "Return to quiz" set as an exit function for the slide.

And guess why the project is skipping the content slides?
