Question

Reducing SWF published size

Hello all,

My colleague and I are new to Captivate and are currently slogging up the learning curve.

Our first newbie mistake was to create an absolutely enormous narrated PowerPoint CP product (250MB cp file / 28 MB SCORM zip file).

The question:: Short of chopping up or otherwise editing down, can anyone point me to any guidelines around publish settings that will help reduce the file size without significantly impacting quality?

For example

- To what degree does the audio sample rate impact file size?
- What's the effect of high sample rate but low (FM) audio quality, etc.?
- Anyone have any best practice combinations?

Sincerest thanks in advance for your time and consideration!

Your immidiate and biggest "bang for the buck" changes will be the PowerPoint background. Set it to white if you can, as well as reducing the usio compression quality.
