Question

Reload external swfs on slide reload

Hello,

I have an animation as an external swf in my Captivate project. I have selected the option "Synchronize with project" and the animation works fine - with one exception, showing when the animation is NOT placed right at the start of the slide timeline: When reloading the current slide that contains the animation (e.g. by clicking the back button), the animation remains on the screen in its momentary state. When the slide playhead reaches the point on the timeline where the animation is placed, the animation reloads and plays as intended.

So I guess what is needed is some kind of unload function to get rid of the already loaded swf. How could this be accomplished?!

Any suggestions welcome,

Jan

Hi Jan

While I'm unaware of a way to force the animation to unload, your situation did spark a thought of a potential workaround.

As you are saying the animation doesn't show until a specific time has been reached, what if you inserted an image that would be in front of the animation?

My thought here is that the image would in effect "hide" the animation until the time is reached for the animation to appear. Then the image would disappear and let the animation show and play.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick,

thanks for your response. Your suggested workaround helps for the time being.

In the long run, I'll continue searching for a "clean" solution.

Best Regards

Jan
