Question

Removing the "Next" button from a quiz.

Is there a way to remove the "Next" button on a quiz question so that when a user submits his or her answer it automatically advances to the next question? Some of my users are finding it confusing because they hit "Next" instead of "submit" and then wind up failing the quiz even though they knew all the correct answers.

The way Captivate quiz questions are designed means that if you expect to see feedback on the slide then you are required to click the Submit button for the feedback to appear, and then click anywhere on the slide again for the feedback to disappear and move to the next slide.  Unlike interactive objects such as buttons, click boxes or TEBs where the feedback captions are timed and will disappear without extra user interaction, quiz question feedback captions need to be quit by the user clicking a second time after submitting.

So if you want your learner to be moved along to the next quiz question immediately after submitting, all you have to do is turn off all feedback captions on that quiz slide.

    Hello,

The Next button is not really needed during quiz, where it has the functionality of a Skip button. However if you allow Review, this button is needed to advance, certainly if you disable the playbar.

My work flow is to drag the Next button under the Clear button. That Clear button will not be there during Review, so the Next button is visible. This tweak and some more in: http://blog.lilybiri.com/question-question-slides-in-captivate
