Question

replace backgrounds in Captivate 4

I have two projects. One has the backgrounds that I need; the other has the Captivate objects that I need (text captions, highlight boxes, and so forth). Does anyone know of a fast way to replace all backgrounds in one project with all corresponding backgrounds in another project? For example, replace background of slide 1 project 1 with background from slide 1 project 2; replace background of slide 2 project 1 background with background from slide 2 project 2; and so forth.

I've got a ton of slides to swap backgrounds on so if there is a fast way to do it, that would be a big time-saver!

Is this just not possible? Any suggestions?

Hi Jay

Have you tried clicking File > Import > Slides/Objects? I'm thinking that in this case you would choose "Slide only". But that will result in additional slides coming in and not the backgrounds being replaced.

Another way would be to export the background images from the background project to a folder. Then open the other project and reverse the process. Import them in. The thing is, they aren't recognized as background images and will import as additional images. You will then have to edit the properties of each slide and choose the new background.

Cheers... Rick

Captiv8r,

Thanks so much for taking time to reply. I have already tried both approaches. In Acrobat the "backgrounds", which are called "pages" in Acrobat, can easily be replaced, but from your comments I now know that there is no similar feature in Captivate.
