Do you need scenario 2? Did you read that blog post, please?

You only need scenario 2 if you have to reset things with the On Enter action of the slide.

If you need that, I'm very sorry but until that bug is fixed (I logged it already for 9, is still the same in 2017) this is the only workaround I know. It is less cumbersome than you think, since the Replay button uses the same action on any slide, you could even put it onthe master slide.

Which version do you use? Which output do you want: SWF or HTML5?

Maybe this blog post can help:

Replay (slide) Button - Captivate blog

It depends on the setup of your slide, maybe Scenario1 will do the trick.

However, when you read the comments (at the end), you'll see that CP9 and CP2017 have a bug for HTML5 output because the On Enter action of the slide is not repeated when using micro-navigation as described in Scenario2. The workaround is with a dummy very short slide just before the slide you want to Replay and Reset. Use this standard action in that workaround scenario for the Replay button:

Go to Previous Slide            which is that very short dummy slide

Continue                               which will allow the playhead to play limited number of frames, enter the present slide and the Enter action will be executed

Thank you. But I didn't quite understand that. I m using cp9 and want both output if possible.

i get the idea of using the dummy slide, I want two buttons on the slide one that's to replay and second to move to next slide. So if I was to use the dummy slide 1 can create two buttons one - "replay" with action to play next slide (slide 2 the original) and button two - "Next" to jump to slide 3. Same I can do with slide 2 - "replay" to play dummy slide (1) and "next" to play slide 3

ao in this case I need to create dummy slide for almost all the slides in the project. wish there was just a better way.    thank you.
