Report by email

Most people who want to email results to an email address are trying to avoid the expense of an LMS (or the extra work it takes to implement one). I wrote this blog post recently to send to folks trying to come up with reporting workarounds.

Captivate does not send emails.  The Send Email action is badly named.  All it does is spawn a new email in the email client on your computer.   This means the email client would need to be some software app such as Outlook or equivalent.  There is no provision to spawn a new Gmail email from a Captivate course module.

This email would be addressed to the email address you specify in Captivate.  But it does not have any information in the email.  There is no feature currently in Captivate that allows you to insert course participant reports or even their name.
